With summer coming to a close quickly and the feeling of fall already in the air (Pennsylvania is having some wacky weather!) I thought I’d do a post covering the hybrid hangout spot known as the sunroom.
I first got the idea to look into sunrooms from a good friend of mine who recently re-did his. Below you can see their classic and clean design, which is highlighted beautifully with a set of long, navy blue ikat curtains.

With their particular sunroom I get a modern, intellectual vibe that I think works really well considering they don’t have windows covering the length of their walls. As you’ll see in some of the pictures, even the ceilings of some sunrooms are constructed of glass.
Personally, I think sunrooms are one of the most underrated living spaces to add on or renovate within your home. Not only do sunrooms offer all the lounging amenities of a living room, but they bring your house in a direct connection with nature.
Also, if you have the walls and windows properly insulated then you still have the ability to utilize your sunroom in the wintertime, making it proper hangout area anytime of the year.
Over at digsdigs.com they also also covered a brief story on sunroom designs with close to 60 different sunrooms lay outs. Below I’ve taken a few a my favorites and listed them here in no particular order. What's your favorite? I'd love to hear it!
